Measure the Chair Rail
Determine the appropriate height of your chair rail from the floor. Use the Template to measure the internal or external angles of the walls, where your chair rail will be fixed, in the same way as instructed for cutting crown molding. Set the pivoting workpiece holders and lock them both in position.
Position the Chair Rail
When placing the chair rail into the locked workpiece holder, the material that is to be fitted to the wall to the left-hand side of the miter joint should be placed for cutting in the left-hand hand locked workpiece holder.
Position the chair rail into the locked workpiece holder as shown in fig 10.
